Assessment

Does this course include a formal assessment?

No. This is a non-certification course with no formal assessment or examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Azure DevOps exercises throughout the one-day programme, so you build real capability rather than sit a test.

Will I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. On completing the one-day programme you receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning, recognising the practical Azure DevOps skills you have built. There is no separate credential awarded by an external body.

How are the skills reinforced during the course?

Through practice. You follow along in the Azure DevOps portal and Azure CLI, building a repository with branch policies, a YAML CI pipeline, a deployment stage, a Bicep template and Azure Monitor alerts, applying each concept as you learn it.

Do I need an Azure account before attending?

Yes. You should have access to an Azure subscription and an Azure DevOps organisation before the training. Azure DevOps has a free tier for up to five users at dev.azure.com. Confirm whether a shared training environment is provided when you enrol.

What will I be able to do after the course?

You will be able to build CI/CD pipelines in Azure Pipelines, manage source control and branch policies in Azure Repos, write and deploy Bicep templates, deploy containers to AKS, set up Azure Monitor and Application Insights, and integrate DevSecOps into your pipeline.

Course Content

What will I learn in the Azure DevOps course?

You learn the full DevOps lifecycle on Azure: DevOps principles and the CALMS model, Azure Repos and CI, multi-stage CD with Azure Pipelines, agile planning with Azure Boards, infrastructure as code with ARM and Bicep, containers with ACR and AKS, monitoring, and DevSecOps.

Which Azure DevOps tools are covered?

The course covers the five Azure DevOps services (Azure Repos, Pipelines, Boards, Artifacts and Test Plans) plus ARM templates, Bicep, Azure Container Registry, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Azure Key Vault and Microsoft Defender for DevOps.

How long is the Azure DevOps training?

The programme runs for one day (eight hours) and covers all six modules with concept explanations, Azure architecture context and hands-on exercises throughout. It can also be delivered as two half-days, depending on the schedule.

Are there hands-on labs in the course?

Yes. Hands-on Azure exercises run throughout the day. You build pipelines, write infrastructure as code, deploy containers and configure monitoring in a live Azure environment, so you practise every concept rather than only hearing about it.

Does the course cover CI/CD and infrastructure as code?

Yes. CI/CD with Azure Pipelines and infrastructure as code with ARM templates and Bicep are core parts of the course. You learn to build multi-stage YAML pipelines and deploy repeatable Azure infrastructure directly from those pipelines.
